Earth Hour picnic and concert

Hilton Harvest Community Garden Earth Hour celebrations are well known in the Fremantle area and this year is no exception. Moving away from their traditional Twilight Fair, this year is an even more grass roots Earth Hour picnic. Held on Saturday 25 March from 4 to 9 pm guests can expect an incredible line up of musicians, children’s entertainment and food stalls, BYO picnic is also in order. Story ride

You can’t read a book when you’re riding a bike!  Well actually you can.  Fremantle Bicycle users group (BUG) and maker Samatha Hughes (Inkling Arts) have created a magical story ride for Freo families. Jump on your bike and begin the story at the north end of the south beach carpark.  Follow the story along the bike path all the way to the Esplanade reserve.  Join us for the official opening of the story ride at 9.30am on Sunday 26 March. Create your own shibori dyed homewares at Stackwood

Be inspired by this amazing indigo dye process and produce your own Shibori dyed homewares in this full day workshop with a wonderful long table lunch. Shibori is the art of folding, binding, clamping and knotting to compress fabric creating a resist. Learn how to prepare a dye vat and some basic Itajame and Arashi Shibori techniques. In the morning session the group will experiment with test pieces (big enough to make into a cushion when finished) and then create finished pieces for their table setting at home. Photography Classes

We run photography classes on Sunday afternoons, if interested please call in and make a booking. It's a half day workshop from 1 pm to 5 pm, which includes catering, photography theory and practical walkabout tour in Fremantle. It is $180 per person, must bring your own DLSR Camera and tripod (also a spare battery and card if necessary).  We do have a special and a tag along person without a camera can join in for free, catering for tag alongs is $12 per head.
