Fremantle's Leighton Indigenous Mosaic Artworks

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects once stated: " The Indigenous artworks at Leighton comprise of seven separate mosaic artworks depicting dreamtime stories and the local history of the Aboriginal people. The mosaics were designed in consultation with indigenous Elders and form part of the site's transition from a railway marshalling yard and container storage area to a vibrant beachside hub. Glen Cowans Studio at the Roundhouse

Visit the gallery to view Glen Cowans' photography of marine images inspired by the waters of Western Australia and oceans around the world. His subjects are the seascapes within and the breathlessly beautiful life forms that live there. Cowans' images allow us to contemplate the wondrous life of the oceans. His lens is our microscope, exposing colour and species with a complexity and sculptural form not normally visible to the naked eye.

Jazz Fremantle Inc

Our main aim is to promote live jazz to the wider community and to this end we have provided a showcase for several community bands plus various school and community orchestras. We have a strong commitment to young musicians and have held fund- raisers to assist several to make overseas trips for advanced study and performance.
