Fremantle Prison

Fremantle Prison is one of WA's premier tourist attractions and in 2010 became the first building in Western Australia to be inscribed on to the prestigious World Heritage list as part of the Australian Convict Sites. In 2015 the Prison was announced as the gold medalist in the categories of Major Tourist Attractions and Cultural Tourism at the Western Australian Toursim Awards. Built by convicts in the 1850s, Fremantle Prison was used as a place of incarceration for 136 years before being decommissioned as an operating maximum security gaol in 1991. Glen Cowans Studio at the Roundhouse

Visit the gallery to view Glen Cowans' photography of marine images inspired by the waters of Western Australia and oceans around the world. His subjects are the seascapes within and the breathlessly beautiful life forms that live there. Cowans' images allow us to contemplate the wondrous life of the oceans. His lens is our microscope, exposing colour and species with a complexity and sculptural form not normally visible to the naked eye.

Greg James Sculpture Studio and Gallery

Greg James is one of Western Australia's finest sculptors. He is renowned for his iconic public artwork, including The Fishermen, Bon Scott and Pietro Porcelli in Fremantle. J Shed Art Studio

The studio specialises in ceramic murals and it is run by Jenny Dawson. Jenny Dawson is a ceramic artist, public artist, designer, teacher, consultant and project co-ordinator. Jenny Dawson established the J Shed Art Studio in 1992 after completing residencies at the Hobart School of Art in Tasmania and at the Deruta Grazia Maiolica workshops in Italy. Jo Darvall Fremantle based Artist

Australian artist Jo Darvall creates work that reconnects people with their sensual nature, from her delicate watercolours, to her kinetic installations and 2D paintings. Originally from Melbourne, Jo studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, receiving a BA in Fine Art in 1998. She established an arts charity AKC with fellow Roar Artists in the 1990s, and has raised over A$1M to date. Jo worked with Master Printer Kim Westcott and had a studio at the Australian Print Workshop in Melbourne. Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery

The Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery is a City of Fremantle subsidised exhibition space that promotes a diverse range of contemporary art. Located in Fremantle's historic west end, this heritage-listed venue has been an important part of Fremantle's art community since 1994. Natural Light Photography Gallery Cafe

Natural Light Photography is an art gallery cafe. The gallery presents beautiful images of nature and landscapes captured through the eyes of photographer and curator of the business, Sharon Hu.
