Overview

Plastic bags have just been banned in WA from July 2018! Hurrah! Not only are they horrendous for the environment but they are an abomination to fashion.

In this workshop you will learn how to crochet a basic shopping bag using yarn made from 100% recycled products. Suitable for both beginners and the more advanced crochet lover, you will learn to follow a basic crochet pattern as well the 3 basic stitches used throughout the pattern.

We will spend time practicing these stitches before moving on and creating our beautiful shopping bags.

About the Teachers: Cass and Maddy met as neighbours 6 years ago and bonded instantly over their love of crafting and crochet. After many a crafternoon they decided to turn this crafty love into a business, blooming into their collective of Coral and Cactus at the beginning of 2017. Cass discovered a love for crochet whilst nursing her first kidlet and passed on her passion & knowledge of the craft to Maddy, teaching her to make her first granny square only 3 years ago and from that point on Maddy was as hooked as Cass for making everything from blankets, to teddies, to jumpers and more & more…!
