Perth-raised, New York-based artist Ian Strange returns for the world premiere of his latest exhibition ISLAND. Continuing his investigations into architecture and the home ISLAND features large scale photographs of three interventions on foreclosed suburban houses in Ohio’s Rust Belt region. The home is a symbol of family, community and safety. Approaching it through the metaphor of the desert island, a place of refuge and sovereignty but simultaneously entrapment, Strange highlights how fragile and unstable home is in the wake of the GFC and the ensuing American housing crisis. Step Into Social

Step Into Social is a social group for young adults 18-30 on the autism spectrum in Fremantle, Western Australia.Now running 3 groups fortnightly on a Saturday, Step Into Social provides a space in Fremantle for individuals to hang out, to have fun, and to meet people with similar interests. About Step Into Social: Step Into Social is run with the active involvement of group members, with Autism West staff facilitating activities the group members agree on. These groups are great places to develop friendships while enjoying various activities, meals and excursions, and where possible, we support the delivery of special projects such as coding, art and film-making.In 2017, the Step Into Social group launched a documentary exploring what engaged them as young adults living in Perth. Workshop Freo Opening

Workshop Freo is officially launching at 15 Mrs Trivett Place, Fremantle! Come down on July 22nd from 1.30 to help us celebrate!
