Crochet & Knitting Class with Lynn Jones

Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet and knit? Now is the time! The lovely Lynn Jones is a master of craft and will be teaching a much requested introduction to crochet and knitting lesson at our Fremantle store. Pirate Day on the Duyfken

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19 and here at Duyfken we get into the swing of this fun time of the year with our annual Pirate Themed Day. This year we will be laying hostage to Duyfken on Saturday September 23 with the ship open for fellow pirates to venture aboard between 11.00am and 4.00pm. So there will be plenty of Arrrrs and Ahoy Matey…and if you keep your eyes out you may spot a Davey Jones, a Blackbeard, the odd Jack Sparrow and even Cap’n Teague! There’ll be plenty of fun going on…with the odd public…

Game Electronics Introductory Class

Learn by doing a fun hands-on physical activity making a working push-button switch to decorate and take home. Interface the button to the Raspberry Pi single-board computer’s input/output wiring to drive a Scratch video game character. Instead of children being limited to playing yet another video game, they can build the controller button, colour, re-animate, and program the game through simple block coding. All Ages 7+ years old Video Game Electronics! {Under 10's will require parental supervision.} Limited space, booking essential. Located 3 blocks from train station, next to National Hotel, upstairs.

Step Into Social

Step Into Social is a social group for young adults 18-30 on the autism spectrum in Fremantle, Western Australia.Now running 3 groups fortnightly on a Saturday, Step Into Social provides a space in Fremantle for individuals to hang out, to have fun, and to meet people with similar interests. About Step Into Social: Step Into Social is run with the active involvement of group members, with Autism West staff facilitating activities the group members agree on. These groups are great places to develop friendships while enjoying various activities, meals and excursions, and where possible, we support the delivery of special projects such as coding, art and film-making.In 2017, the Step Into Social group launched a documentary exploring what engaged them as young adults living in Perth. Here’s a sneak peak of the trailer.

Coding Club Fun for School Holidays

Free Fun Coding for all ages. Use your own laptop or tablet for this activity. Also, you can get some free information about the Raspberry Pi SBC (single-board computer). Bring your own Internet enabled laptop, tablet, or (if you have one) a Raspberry Pi to learn more about it as well as to do some fun coding. Under 10's will require parental supervision. Note: This "Coding Club Fun for School Holidays" is different from the other Gizmo Cats School Holiday courses being run, or the introductory making an electrical push-button class also listed on Fremantle Story. This is may be the start of a new coding club (Coderdojo) on Saturday (or other day) afternoons that may continue into the school term depending upon interest and feedback. DSLR Photography Classes

We run photography classes on Sunday afternoons, if you are interested please call and make a booking. We offer half day workshops from 1-5pm, which include catering, photography theory and a practical walkabout tour in Fremantle. Bring your own DLSR Camera and tripod (also a spare battery and card if necessary).  We do have a special: a person without a camera can join in for free, catering for these additional people is $12 per head.

A Sunday at Guildhall
