The Music Mill | Fremantle International Street Arts Festival 2017

The cream of Perth’s roving street bands perform a song each with the Music Mill, a solar powered sound sculpture made up of many automated musical instruments including glockenspiel, marimba, drums and cowbell. Each instrument is manually programmed through the use of pins and lift arms to create different melodies and rhythms. It’s like a giant toy which brings joy to the child in all of us. ANZAC Day 2017

Between 2014 and 2018 Australia commemorates the ANZAC Centenary, marking 100 years since our nations involvement in the First World War. The City of Fremantle is proud to support and host a number of events in 2017 and to have the opportunity to honour and pay respect to those who have and are serving our nation as part of the Armed Forces.

ANZAC Day 2017 Dawn Service

Join us for a moving ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Fremantle War Memorial, Monument Hill at 5:50am, Tuesday 25th April 2017. Two large screens will be installed behind the monument, with a third screen installed further down the hill on the High Street side of the reserve so that all attendees can clearly see the service on the cenotaph. ANZAC Day 2017 North Fremantle Service

Overview Gather around Fremantle's first war memorial and join members of the Bicton-Palmyra RSL and the North Fremantle Amateur Football Club in remembering our fallen. About 550 men out of a population of 4,000 from North Fremantle served overseas during World War One. Just over 100 did not return and in 1921, a committee was organised to raise funds for a memorial to these men.
