5000 Poppies Project

2018 marks the 100th Anniversary of the First World War. As part of commemorating this, the Australian War Memorial will be creating a stunning large scale installation of 60, 000 hand made poppies, carpeting the grounds for Remembrance Day. Each poppy will represent one life lost in World War I. Online group 5000 Poppies is leading the charge and has put a call out to skilled knitters and crocheters. We would like to help them to their goals! They currently have around 18,000- 20,000 already made but there is still a long way to go! A second project is planned…
