Overview

Keeping a journal is a great way to add some much-needed mindfulness into your day. It's a way to document your thoughts, feelings, what you're up to, where you've been and where you'd like to go. A record of your journeys amongst the real world as well as your internal ones.

In this three hour class, Hannah from Mermaid's Coin will show you how to incorporate on-the-go techniques and creative composition ideas into your visual recordings. She will show you a variety of watercolour and mixed media techniques to create backgrounds, as well as spot illustrations to document your day. You will learn about which art materials to pack when traveling, and ways to bind loose pages together to create a bespoke journal.

Hannah will show you how to start journaling, using suitable papers and give you some great suggestions for types of journals to buy. Please view the "what to bring" section as you'll be asked to bring some of your own images and references for this session. You don't need to bring your own journal as learning about paper quality first is important.
