This event has passed.

Date & time

27th of July 2018 at 10:00am
until 3:00pm

42 Henry Street Fremantle
  • West End

Learn this very unusual but eye catching method of preserving wet specimens.  Students will be working with fish, eels or pinky mice using diaphonization techniques. This new technique, established in the 70s, involves the staining of muscles and cartilage, rendering them transparent.

All students will receive their own diaphonizing kits to take home. You will begin the process of preservation in class, and continue at home following detailed instructions.

You will also receive the gift of a ready-made specimen displayed in a glass vial.
